Overview
Although the development of the Brangus breed began in the early 1900's, the first registered Brangus were recorded in 1949, with the establishment of the American Brangus Breeders Association.

Special Characteristics
The combination of Brahman hardiness and Angus quality sets the Brangus breed apart. Known for balanced performance, the Brangus has the advantages of maternal strengths, feedlot performance and carcass merit. The breed has been developed to withstand extreme climates and challenging environments and as a result is naturally hardy and resistant to diseases and parasites. Over the years, Brangus breeders have carefully selected breed stock for genetically superior traits and as a result have developed animals with high carcass merit.
